Pay for a machine, only while it is working.
Every seat is a persistent computer. It sleeps the moment you stop, so a box you have not touched since Friday costs nothing over the weekend — and the included hours pool across your team, because nobody should be the person who ran out.

Questions people ask before they buy
- What counts as an awake-hour?
- Wall-clock time your machine is running. It goes quiet within seconds of you stopping and wakes when you come back, so you are billed for the hours you worked rather than the hours you had it.
- Do I need a plan to use Caret?
- No. Everything on your own Mac — every agent, every session, the whole app — is free and needs no account. A plan is for when you want a session to survive the laptop closing.
- Am I paying for the model too?
- No. Caret drives the Claude Code or Codex CLI you are already signed into, on your own subscription. We do not resell tokens and there is no markup on the model.
- What happens if we go over the hours?
- You keep working. The extra is billed at the rate on your plan, and you can set a spend cap that stops new machines rather than sending you a surprise.
- Can I change plan or cancel?
- Any time, from the dashboard. Adding a seat is prorated immediately; removing one stops the charge at the next cycle. Cancelling keeps the service to the end of the period you paid for.
- Where does our code actually live?
- On your machine, and on the box you rent. We do not train on it, nobody here reads it, and every subprocessor is named in the DPA.
Try it on your own machine first.
It costs nothing and takes a minute. Move a session to the cloud the day you want to close the laptop mid-turn.
